My name is Alex Dicken and I work for BirminghamLive as a senior sports writer. 

I worked with their sports desk to gain experience during my final year studying BA (Hons) Sports Journalism at Staffordshire University.

After securing a First Class degree, I was offered a permanent role to focus on the region’s four premier football clubs. 

I have also worked with several other organisations. My work with the likes of the Liverpool Echo, Manchester Evening News and more can also be viewed on this website.

I developed a wide range of skills from Shorthand to video production during my time at university which I have been able to put into practice.
